At Modern Logic, we build no-code solutions to help fintech companies make smart, real-time, decisions about customer risk - including fraud, compliance, and credit. We are looking for senior backend engineers to help us build the fastest, most scalable solution on the market.

We’re backed by amazing investors (Cowboy Ventures, Nyca Partners, and angels from Chime, Coinbase, Upwork, Nutmeg, etc) and are looking to grow the engineering team across the board in 2022.

The Role:

We are a rapidly growing company, and we’re working with larger customers and data volumes every day - scalability, speed, and reliability are crucial for our customers and our product. We’re looking for backend engineers with experience building highly scalable applications.

As a key member of our engineering team you will be expected to operate relatively independently and take ownership of your projects and their success. We’re a tight knit team and we have a lot of fun together too.

We’re based in Oakland, CA but open to remote engineers as well.

Desired Experience:

• 2+ years experience with Java
• Experience building scalable applications.
• Experience with production rules engines
• Experience in any or all of the following technologies is ideal:
  • pub/sub messaging
  • in memory caching
  • large data stores

About Modern Logic: Our team was founded by Nick Latourette (CTO) and Mitchel Scott (CEO). They met at Stanford, and worked on money laundering and fraud at Palantir. Nick later built out the rules engines powering pricing at Flexport, while Mitchel returned to Stanford to earn his MBA. Afterwards they came back together to found Modern Logic.
